Introduction

Stocksfield Baptist Church (SBC) respects each individual's right to personal privacy. We will collect information through various methods but only use it in the ways disclosed in this statement. This statement applies to information collected  on website stocksfieldbaptistchurch.org.uk, emails addressed to SBC or SBC staff or officers, phone calls to SBC, mobile calls/texts to SBC staff or officers, SBC authorised social media sites or by written correspondence. NB An “officer” of SBC is anyone who holds a recognised role of responsibility, usually but not always, appointed by Church governing body and includes members of the Church Council.

Part I. Information Collection

We may collect information about individuals such as: name, address, gender, occupation, emergency contact details, date of birth, marital status, allergies, religion, telephone numbers and email addresses.

We may collect the following general data that is not personally identifiable information: country of origin, ISP, IP Address, connection speed and browser type. We may collect demographic data in order to monitor usage patterns. We collect this information through session information, browser cookies, and logging files.

We may employ cookies. A cookie is a small text file that our web-server places on a user's computer hard drive to be a unique identifier. Cookies enable SBC to track usage patterns and deliver customised content to users. Our cookies will not collect personally identifiable information.

Part II. Information Usage

The information collected by SBC will be used for the purpose of administration, pastoral care, dissemination of information, communications, giving of time and money, emergency medical care, the furtherance of SBC’s ministry, furthering our Charitable objectives and for maintaining up to date records. We may need to share your personal information with our staff, suppliers and service providers for these purposes.

We will not sell, lease, distribute or transfer your information for commercial gain or for the purposes of marketing unless you have previously indicated that you are happy for us to do so.

We may also share your information where we have a contractual or legal obligation so to do.

Users who provide information may receive announcements, information about events, services, newsletters, requests for meetings or information and other communication pertinent to SBC via email, text, social media, letter or phone call.

We will not knowingly publish your information in documents which are in the public domain without you having previously indicated you are happy for us to do so.

In accordance with our Safeguarding Policy and our commitment to protect vulnerable people from all forms of exploitation and abuse, we may share details, including personal data, relating to serious breaches of our Safeguarding Policy with statutory authorities such as the police, the Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA), the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Agency (CEOP) and the Charity Commission.

By providing us with your personal data, including 'sensitive' personal data, you consent to the collection and use of any information you provide in accordance with the above purposes and this privacy statement.

Part III. Access to Information

You may request a copy of the personal data that we keep about you in a readable format for a charge of £10.00. If you wish to obtain a copy of this personal data you may do so by contacting the Data Protection Trustee. Your request will then be forwarded to the Data Controller for action.

Users may contact us about inaccuracies they may find by emailing the Data Protection Trustee.
Users may request that their personal data be deleted from our database by emailing the Data Protection Trustee.
Please note that some personal data cannot be deleted straight away for statutory reasons.

SBC protects user information with the following security measures: hardware firewalls, password protection and other appropriate technology and procedures used to protect consumer privacy.
