Introduction

Stocksfield Baptist Church goes all the way back to 1652. We have moved on since then and we are a modern, contemporary church that meets in an old building! We value and respect our past, but enjoy the present and look to the future with expectation about what God will do in this area.

Who

Stocksfield Baptist Church is made up of all ages with lots of young people; we particularly welcome families. We come from varied Christian backgrounds and embrace the diversity and richness our various experiences bring as we worship Jesus together. We are informal and emphasise the importance of relationships. We are a church that seeks to honour the Bible as God’s word and be open to what the Holy Spirit is saying and doing, when we gather and in our lives separately.

What

There is plenty going on in the life of Stocksfield Baptist Church with different weekly and monthly activities.  There is something happening most days. We welcome community groups into our building; we also aim to get out into the local community and get involved. We are part of God’s church wherever we go and we meet in different ways, as prayer partners, house-groups and weekly on Sundays.

Other pages give an idea of what you can expect should you visit us or become part of the church. Whatever your background and situation, we hope you will find something here relevant to and helpful for your spiritual journey.

Part of the wider church

We are a member church of the Northern Baptist Association and the Baptist Union of Great Britain. We also work closely with other churches of different denominations between Prudhoe and Hexham.
